Public rituals are supposed to create order. Mostly, they create choreography: uniforms, gestures, crowds, symbols, people knowing roughly where to stand. Broken Rituals looks at the moment that choreography slips, when ceremony becomes awkward, authority turns theatrical, and the solemn collides with the ridiculous. Nothing has completely failed. That is the problem.
